About Eric Lee

Born in Singapore, with both parents as immigrants from China, Eric had always been fascinated by Japan since young. After 12 years of study in a mission school at St. Andrew’s and a two and half years of National Service as Infantry Officer, Eric graduated at the then University of Singapore in Economics & Statistics (Hons). His first career was in Information Technology with a 2 years training stint as software engineer in multi-national giant NEC in Tokyo. This enabled him to be immersed in the language, culture, life and work of Japan, It was during an era when Japan was Number one as an economic and technology powerhouse. The experience left a deeper influence and feeling in him for the Japanese people. It was unforgettable as he also met Yumiko in Tokyo in August 1981. They were married in 2 January 1984 in Singapore.

Eric continued his career at NEC in Singapore, having experienced the early days of computerisation with huge mainframe systems, then the powerful mini-computers, and the advent of PCs , desktop computing and internet dot.com. Today, Eric is a Financial Consultant with IPP Financial Advisers, one of the largest independently-owned FA firm in Singapore and the region. Having spent over 25 years in the rigours of IT : process, logic and systems analysis, he now returns to his first discipline in Economics & Statistics to work with his clients in Wealth Management.
