Japanese Language Class
Our Japanese Language classes emphasize on
- Communicative approach;
- Informal and fun learning; and
- Immersion environment
Relaxed And Informal Class Setting
We believe that language is for communication and we aim to build communicative competence in each student. The vocabulary and grammatical
items are presented in situational and realistic context in which the Japanese language is used among Japanese. Authentic materials and visual
aids are employed to enhance students understanding of social cultural implication, body language, and other situational background.
Interactive activities such as pair and group work are often held to encourage active and spontaneous responses in the language. Games, songs
and dances are also often employed to help students overcome inhibition and create relaxed and fun atmosphere of learning.
Interaction With Japanese
Japanese living in Singapore are sometimes recruited as volunteers to assist. They joined
pair/group work to help students to understand and practice. Outdoor activities and festive events during Christmas and Chinese New Year were
organised to allow students to informally interact with the Japanese and their families, including children. Some Japanese families would through
these events extend their invitations to our students to meet either at their homes or other places to chat and share.
Yearly trip to Japan as a group for immersion activities is the main highlight of our Japanese classes.
